Rarely does a band make an album that captures its time and still sounds  fresh and relevant 40 years later.

Goanna did it on their very first try, with the astonishing Spirit of Place, an album that went four times platinum on release, and continues to sell, and find new listeners.

Goanna came from the Victorian surf coast, with deep views about social justice and the environment. They did an irresistible folk rock that record company WEA thought would sell, but they were nervous about the band’s unashamed “we wanna change the world” vibe.

40 years later, Goanna is touring again, celebrating their remarkable debut record that started the Australian pop culture conversation about Indigenous rights and the environment.
